Session level: Intermediate
In the last ten years I have been witness to incredible changes in the testing role. When I first started testing had its place – it only happened after Development, when all the decisions had already been made. Now it’s an integral part of the entire System Development Lifecycle, and testers should be a vocal part of the entire process.
In this talk we’ll look at ten ways that testers can gain information, impart information, influence decisions, and improve the quality of the code and end product, earlier than ever before. These range from taking a leading part in story kick-offs, being involved in automation, and pairing and testing on the Developer’s machine.
Key take-aways:
I have been in and around Testing for almost 20 years now, in a variety of roles, and a variety of industries. I have been Agile for about 11 of those years, and am a passionate advocate of the positive effect that it has had on the testing role.
In the little spare time I have, I like to write comedy, scare pigeons, worry about stuff, and get very annoyed about Brexit and Donald Trump.
